This auction is intended for a collector, but anyone is welcome to purchase. It is not intended to be a “daily driver” by any means, as it is far too valuable to not find an appropriate place in a collector’s inventory or trumpet museum display somewhere in the world. out of respect for its heritage.Here is a brand-new old stock vintage Los Angeles Benge Trumpet Case of the traditional Gladstone design from fifty years ago in 1974. It will fit a B flat or C trumpet.If my recollection is correct, the instrument originally contained within was purchased by a customer who already had a multiple trumpet case and it was Giardinelli’s practice to oblige customers and sell instruments without a case under such circumstances. As a result, it was removed from the store’s inventory sheet and was lost to time.Overall, the case is entirely sturdy and has an aura of elegance and class with its well-made craftmanship inside and outside. The Benge Logo is proudly displayed on the outside of the lid.For a case that is some fifty years old it is in rather amazing condition.Simply said they don't make these cases anymore.The blue velvet lining is as crisp, fresh and perfect as the day it left the factory, short of the "impression" of the original trumpet that was housed in plastic.The external case hardware is the traditional English Cheney bright nickel-plated variety, and all is in perfect condition with no areas of cosmetic concern.There are no scuffs whatsoever, but the Benge logo does have a minor scratch into the name.Two mouthpieces can be securely housed in the mouthpiece holders. There is a compartment under the instrument area that can accommodate a variety of accessories, and most mutes will also find space to be stored in the separate area in front of the instrument area.There is also a most convenient second handle on the end of the case that matches the one in the traditional position.This would make a most perfect “display” case or as a presentation case for a newly restored Benge trumpet.There is no key included in this auction and there was none to be found in the case itself on the stockroom shelves.
